St Peter's Presbyterian Church
St Peters Presbyterian Church,
corner Blues Point Road & Blues Street North Sydney, is a wonderful Schubertiade venue, having excellent
mellow acoustics, a cosy ambience, and a luscious green lawn for tea & biscuits.
The church, established in 1866, is of Gothic style built from Sydney sandstone
and Welsh slate roofing with a copper spire, bronze cross, 1880's stained glass
windows and an 1885 Grand Pipe Organ. It is listed by the National Trust of Australia
and Heritage Council as a building of great significance and by the North Sydney
Council as a Heritage Item.
Cars can be parked in Blues Point Road. For train travel, the church is only two minutes up
from North Sydney station.
Goethe-Institut
The Goethe-Institut,
90 Ocean Steet Woollahra, is an ideal, modern, venue for a Schubertiade concert
having excellent acoustics & electronic equipment, and a pleasant afternoon
tea area replete with outside patio. We usually hold our final Schubertiade for
the year here and serve wine & cheese as well as the usual tea, coffee, fruit
juices, cake & biscuits.
For car travel, there is ample parking in surrounding streets. For public transport,
take a train to Edgecliff Station, and then walk a couple of hundred metres up the hill. Bus 200 stops right outside.
