Welcome to the Sydney Schubert Society web site! Our society aims to promote knowledge & understanding of the works of the nineteenth century Viennese composer Franz Schubert by various means including public performance, private musicales, lectures, a newsletter called Impromptus, a monthly 2MBS radio program, and this web site.

We hold concerts, called Schubertiades, featuring the works of Schubert together with works by his contemporaries and classical predecessors, plus lectures assessing Schubert's influence on diverse aspects of European musical, literary, and cultural development. 

The society aims to keep its entry fees to these Schubertiades and annual membership fees as low as possible consistent with engaging top-quality artists and lecturers.
